Kevin E. Timson, Esq. brings more than 25 years of combined business and legal experience to Schwartz Ettenger, PLLC. He has served private and public company clients, with businesses ranging in size from $500,000 to $500 million in valuation.
Mr. Timson has experience representing clients on various matters, including M&A, real estate, business divorce, succession planning, intellectual property, settlements/disputes, joint ventures, financing, corporate governance, entity formation, industry regulations and commercial contracts. He has represented clients across several industries, including automotive dealerships, retail, franchising, manufacturing, healthcare, real estate, technology, non-profits, food & beverage and hospitality. This representation has included clients local to Long Island, as well as across New York State and the country.
Mr. Timson is particularly experienced in counseling clients on franchise law and licensing. He has regularly counseled franchised automotive dealers on buy-sell transactions, manufacturer disputes, sales/customer service/facility deficiencies, state DMV licensing, buy-ins/buy-outs and negotiation of management contracts.
Mr. Timson brings a host of business and legal experience to the firm’s clients from his prior positions. He has an extensive background in financial and operating analysis from his years of experience at several notable organizations, including RR Donnelley, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority and the National Science Foundation. This experience has been essential in understanding each client’s business to support their financial objectives while minimizing their legal risks.
The son of a serial entrepreneur, Mr. Timson has always had an interest in helping entrepreneurs, family businesses and other business owners create and grow their business while effectively managing risks.
Mr. Timson earned his law degree from New York Law School, his Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Syracuse University and his Bachelor’s Degree from Rice University. He is admitted to the New York State Bar and is a member of the New York State Bar Association.
